Our vision is to be the go-to bus company that people choose to travel with and work for in the East of England.
Go East Anglia is part of the Go-Ahead Group, which includes Konectbus in Norfolk and Hedingham & Chambers in Suffolk and Essex. We are dedicated to providing a reliable and efficient bus service, but our mission extends beyond transportation. Our goal is to connect people and expand opportunities by facilitating access to work, education, and leisure, empowering individuals and fostering thriving communities.
We offer a broad range of local employment opportunities across various roles, including driving, engineering, operations, commercial, marketing, and finance. Our network currently operates 171 buses, and we are proud to support regional employment and development.
Collaboration is central to our approach. We work closely with local stakeholders, charities, and businesses to promote sustainable bus travel as an environmentally friendly alternative to driving. Additionally, we partner with organisations to reduce social isolation and enhance community well-being through public transportation.
Building Stronger Communities
We take great pride in our role within the community, believing that buses are more than just a means of transportation. Through our Chatty Bus initiative, we highlight the social benefits of bus travel, helping to alleviate loneliness and reduce social isolation, particularly in rural areas. We regularly host events across our network to engage with communities, and partner with regional mental health charities to emphasise the importance of conversation for mental well-being. Diversity and inclusion are key values we uphold on our buses and in the workplace, where we actively participate in events to promote these principles.
We are also passionate about education, working closely with schools and colleges to support the next generation. Through our Generation Go initiative, we equip young people with the confidence and skills to consider bus travel as a practical option for both leisure and education. For younger children, our Story Bus offers an exciting opportunity to experience a bus ride and engage with a real-life bus driver.
We are equally committed to encouraging new passengers to use our services, even if it's for just one day a week. Our Great Days Out By Bus initiative highlights exciting outings across the three counties we serve, showing families, students, and older adults how easily they can access local attractions. To further incentivise bus travel, we are expanding our network of rewards partners, offering passengers a range of discounts and giveaways by simply presenting their bus ticket.

Sustainability
Sustainability and corporate responsibility are integral to every aspect of our operations. Our business is driven by collaboration with stakeholders and partnerships that prioritise sustainability and continuous improvement.
In 2021, we launched our Climate Change Strategy, aligning with our parent group, Go Ahead, to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2045. We focus on key areas such as waste and water management, climate adaptation, and decarbonisation. To further these goals, we continue to introduce newer vehicles into our fleet, enhancing fuel efficiency through improved driving practices, and optimising parts to lower our environmental impact.
We are passionate about encouraging children to become confident enough to choose the bus as a viable transport option. That's why we launched our Generation Go! campaign. This campaign involves visiting schools and giving children the information and skills they need to be able to use our bus networks independently.
Chatty Bus was founded in collaboration with The Norwich Together Alliance to build connections. As loneliness had been highlighted as a growing issue, we set out to tackle this through the connections provided by bus travel so that residents could rely on the bus not just as a means of transport, but as a pillar of their community.
